The US dollar posted gains versus rupee amid hike in dollar’s demand on the local currency exchange desk on Tuesday. The American currency commenced new day’s trading at its Friday’s closing rate of Rs.85.45, depicted positive trend and was trading at Rs.85.55 at close of markets. Thus, rupee incurred a loss of 0.10 paisas versus dollar in the kerb. On the International desk, the American currency gave up grounds against the euro amid speculation the housing data may spur the Federal Reserve to pump more money into the economy.

In the interbank dealings on Tuesday, the American greenback was trading at Rs. 85.55 for buying and Rs.85.77 for selling.
Positive trend was recorded in the price of Pound Sterling amid hike in its demand in the currency exchange market. The British currency started off new day’s trading at Rs.132.30, posted more gains and was changing hands at Rs.132.40 at close of markets on Tuesday. Thus, rupee registered a loss of 0.10 paisas versus Pound. On the International desk, the cable dropped to its weakest level in a month versus the US currency as a policy maker at Bank of England said that the British economy may slip back into a recession.

In the interbank dealings today, the UK’s currency was changing hands at Rs.132.01 for buying and Rs.132.37 for selling at close of markets on Tuesday.
The single currency of Eurozone appreciated against rupee amid rise in its demand in the local currency exchange market today.The 16-nation currency was changing hands at Rs.108.40 amid demand high at close of markets on Tuesday. Thus, rupee lost 0.10 paisas versus Euro.

In the interbank market today, Euro traded at Rs. 109.09 for buying and Rs. 108.35 for selling at close of markets on Tuesday.
Upward trend was recorded in the price of UAE Dirham as its demand was sky-high in the local marke. The Emirates’ currency commenced new day’s trading at Rs.23.15. posted hefty gains and was trading at Rs.23.25 at close of markets on Tuesday. Thus, rupee lost 0.10 paisas versus Dirham.
