Demand of US currency continued to fall as remittances from expatriates kept impacting positively in the currency exchange market. The US dollar was changing hands at Rs.85.40 on Tuesday as its demand remained low. In the international market, the American currency gave up grounds against the single currency and weakened 0.5% to $1.2727. The American dollar remained lower after the Institute for Supply Management-Chicago Inc. said its business barometer declined to 56.7 this month, the lowest since November, from 62.3 in July.

The US dollar was trading at Rs.85.55 for buying and Rs.85.75 for selling at close of markets on Tuesday. Thus, rupee ended the day on a positive note versus dollar in the interbank dealings.
Pound Sterling remained in the negative territory versus rupee as demand of the cable declined sharply in the forex market. The cable kicked off new day’s trading at Rs.132.00, shed grounds and was changing hands at Rs.131.50. Thus, rupee recovered 0.50 paisa versus Pound Sterling. On the international desk,

Against pak rupee, Pound sterling was trading at Rs.132.28 for buying and Rs.132.60 for selling at close of markets on Tuesday.
The single currency of Eurozone shed grounds versus rupee in the kerb dealings today. The shared currency was trading at Rs.107.50 on Tuesday from Rs.107.80 on Monday. Thus, rupee recorded a recvoery of 0.30 paisas versus Euro.

In the interbank dealings today, euro was changing hands at Rs.108.27 for buying and Rs. 108.54 for selling at close of markets.
The emirates’ currency gave up mere grounds versus rupee in the exchange rate market today. The UAE Dirham kicked off new day’s trading at Rs.23.18 on Monday, shed mere grounds and was trading at Rs.23.17 at close of markets. Thus, rupee ended the day on a positive note versus Dirham.

In the interbank dealings on Tuesday, the UAE Dirham was trading at Rs.23.29 for buying and Rs.23.35 for selling.
